Introduced in 2001, the .NAME universal TLD is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At first, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to buy john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can grab your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to switch the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no special regulations on who can purchase a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
