SRV Records in Shared Website Hosting
Provided you have a shared website hosting account with us and the DNS records for a domain name added in it are handled by our system, you are going to be able to set up any record that you need without difficulty, including an SRV one. This is done via the user-friendly Hepsia CP and once you log in to your website hosting account and go to the DNS Records section, you will only need to fill a couple of boxes with the needed data and your new SRV record will be active within a couple of hours. You can enter the service, protocol and the port number which you want to use as well as the priority and the weight of the new record depending on how you intend to set up your system or what the third-party provider requires. If required, you may also edit the TTL (Time To Live) value for the record, which shows how long it will remain active after you change or delete it. The default TTL value for almost all records is 3600 seconds and you will be able to leave it if you do not specifically need a different one.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Creating a new SRV record for each and every domain address hosted in a semi-dedicated server account on our end will be very easy and will take no more than a few clicks via a user-friendly interface. Through the DNS management tool in your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you are able to create any record that you need and when you select SRV as the type, several more textboxes will appear on your screen. There, you will have to input the record value, the service, the protocol and the port number and you'll be ready. Furthermore, in case the other service provider requires it, you'll also be able to set the weight and priority values when they have to be different from the default value, which is 10. The range for these 2 options is from 1 to 100, so you have a number of possibilities if you use many servers for a given service. You could also outline how long the newly created SRV record will remain live if you erase it in the future by setting a TTL (Time To Live) value for it. By default, the TTL is 3600 seconds.
